FROM MANGER TO MODERN TIMES:
Faith, Love, and LGBT Inclusion
Written By: FTS PridePulse
Pasko na naman, and every year we’re reminded of the story of the manger as simple, humble, pero puno ng pag-ibig at pag-asa. Yung kwento ni Jesus teaches us one big lesson that love, compassion, and acceptance are at the heart of everything.
Sa totoo. for many LGBT Filipinos, faith can sometimes feel tricky. May mga pagkakataon na nakakaramdam sila ng exclusion or judgment sa religious spaces, or even in their own families. And that can make Christmas feel complicated, kahit gusto nating magdiwang.
This season, let’s take a page from that manger story. Love is simple. Acceptance is simple. Pagpakita ng respeto and inclusion doesn’t need to be complicated. Sa halip, it’s about opening hearts and making space for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
Faith at love go hand in hand with inclusion. That means treating everyone with dignity at respeto, welcoming LGBT friends, partners, and chosen family sa celebrations, embracing diversity as part of God’s creation and using language na affirming at hindi nakaka-offend.
Pasko is all about compassion, hope, and togetherness. When we bring these values to how we treat LGBT people, we’re living out the very message of Christmas. It’s a reminder na no one should feel left out or unloved during this season, or any season.
So this Christmas, let’s celebrate like the manger would have wanted:
With open hearts, lots of love, and a table big enough for everyone.
Because faith, love, and inclusion?
That’s the real Christmas magic.
